The Helping Hand in Waste Management
Marine Plastic Solutions is the helping hand providing bespoke best practice solutions for local, national, and regional organisations and governments across the formal and informal waste sectors.
The MPS team has worked throughout Australia, Europe, the Asia-Pacific Region, the Caribbean and Africa on a variety of waste related issues including, solid waste, hazardous waste, healthcare waste, e-waste, shipping waste, and plastic in order to help tailor solutions to specific needs to facilitate transformation to the circular economy and a sustainable future.
MPS is both experienced in and equipped to offer virtual training, assistance and project implementation. We have conducted these activities across both the Caribbean and Pacific Regions during the pandemic. We are familiar with working with local counterparts and have forged strong connections throughout our remote work on recent projects.
A critical pillar in MPS's approach to tackling plastic and related waste problems is the identification and support of vulnerable groups and peoples. MPS is committed to vulnerability reduction and resilience-building.
Our 3M Team (multidisciplinary, multi-national, multilingual) talks your language with diverse heritage, waste and circular economy experience across Europe, the Asia-Pacific Region, the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa. The MPS team and associates are a group of passionate forward thinkers who possess demonstrated expertise across the policy and development sector, the programme and project envelope in both the technical and social sciences. The MPS team combines these skill sets and expertise to deliver comprehensive and tailored solutions to complex problems in waste that fully incorporate linked social challenges such as gender equity, education, and poverty.
MPS has extensive experience with the ability to provide assistance with fully integrated, stepwise or single component projects for a range of activities including research, policy, project development & implementation, auditing, scoping studies & reviews, education, training and communications. We can be a one stop shop or have excellent experience integrating with other partners as needed.
The MPS team has worked on waste and related projects across the globe with an extensive range of partners including the UN, the World Bank, the EU, the governments of Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, as well as the Universities of Monash and Newcastle (Australia).
Current projects include the PRIF Pacific Regional Recycling Centre Feasibility Study, an EIB funded biogas pilot scoping study in Vanuatu, World Bank's Healthcare Waste Strategy Implementation project in Samoa, EU's EDF 11 Sustainable Waste Programme in Tuvalu, and Australian Government projects in the Solomon Islands (Strongim Bisnis).
